Robert A. Silverman, M.D., Chairman

Associate Attending Physician, Emergency Medicine, Long Island Jewish Medical Center Faculty, Emergency Medicine Residency, 1987-present.  Dr. Silverman is also an Associate Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine, Albert Einstein College of Medicine.  He is the author of and principal investigator for numerous studies on the emergency treatment of acute asthma exacerbations.

Richard Nowak, M.D.

Dr. Richard Nowak is one of the directors of the Clinical Research Unit, and a past chairperson of the Department of Emergency Medicine Unit at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.  He is currently a clinical associate professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor.   He has had a strong interest in clinical studies of acute asthma exacerbations.

Harold S. Nelson, M.D.

Harold S. Nelson, MD, is currently a Professor in the Department of Medicine at the National Jewish Medical and Research Center in Denver, Colorado, for the past 21 years. He is also Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.   He is a recognized leader in the treatment of asthma.

Nicola A. Hanania, M.D.

Nicola (Nick) A. Hanania, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Section of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and Director of the Asthma Clinical Research Center at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He is also Director of the Asthma Adult Clinic and Pulmonary Diagnostic services at Ben Taub General Hospital in Houston.   He is a world recognized leader in bronchodilator therapy of asthma and Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease.

Christopher L. Carroll, M.D.

Christopher L Carroll, MD is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care at the University Of Connecticut School Of Medicine.   He is the author of numerous articles on the management of acute asthma exacerbations in the pediatric age group.

Phillip Korenblat, M.D.

Dr. Phillip Korenblat is a Professor of Clinical Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine specializing in Asthma, Allergy and Clinical Immunology. He is board certified in Asthma/Immunology and Internal Medicine.  He has been a Principal Investigator in numerous asthma studies and is a recognized leader in this field.

Michael E. Wechsler, M.D.

Dr. Wechsler is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and a faculty member of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Division at Brigham and Women's Hospital. He has a clinical practice in the Partners Asthma Center at the BWH Center for Chest Diseases and also practices critical care medicine in the Brigham and Women's Hospital Medical Intensive Care Unit. He is the Assistant Director of the Brigham and Women's Hospital Asthma Research Center and is on the Steering Committee of the NIH's Asthma Clinical Research Network.
