Development Pipeline

Since 2000, MediciNova has built its portfolio of development-stage compounds by acquiring product rights through in-licensing deals primarily with mid-sized Japanese pharmaceutical companies. MediciNova currently has eight compounds, six in clinical development, for ten different therapeutic indications representing significant market opportunities. MediciNova’s pipeline includes potential treatments for multiple sclerosis, status asthmaticus, asthma, interstitial cystitis, cancer, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, insomnia, preterm labor, urinary incontinence and thrombotic disorders. MediciNova’s current strategy is to focus its resources on the development and commercialization of two core assets in its development pipeline: MN-221 for the treatment of status asthmaticus, an acute, severe asthma attack, and MN-166 for the treatment of multiple sclerosis.  Beyond MN-221 and MN-166, MediciNova will strategically conduct development activities on the remainder of its product candidates, if any, to maximize their value while aggressively pursuing a variety of initiatives to monetize these product candidates.
